Educational & Vocational Training Programs

Education is a key driver of economic mobility, and more educated workers experience less economic insecurity, poverty, and unemployment. The OIC Training Department delivers high-quality, targeted, and integrated personal development, vocational certification and employability skills curriculum. We serve the needs of employers as well as young adults (18-24), the unemployed, under-skilled and non-credentialed workers, and those with complex barriers to employment.

Our credentials prepare participants for entry level, and mid-level career pathway employment opportunities, delivered both in schools and at work release facilities in Dade and Broward, and at our OIC main campus in Fort Lauderdale. Services include individualized evidence based employability assessment, personal development and career counseling, and comprehensive navigational case management. Based upon assessment, our case managers recommend options for job readiness, skills-based and industry recognized vocational certification training where trainees learn critical job-related skills leading to self-sufficiency.
