Tuesday, October 18th - Town Hall Forum

The Distinguished Panelists include Representatives from: The U.S. Department of Labor, Leaders in Education, OIC Executives from across the Country, College Presidents, Workforce Boards, Business Development Alliances, Employers, Faith-Based and Community Leaders.

Part 1: TOOLS! (Techniques, Opportunity, Orchestration, Linkages, Strategy)

A Practitioner's Session

The TOOLS event priority is to offer those working in the workforce development, human development, education, talent management, human resource development, organization development, and employment services sectors with practical tools which can elevate their impact and to equip them to derive solutions to the skill gaps that impact our region, as well as efforts to buttress the stability of the middle class.

The TOOLS event will feature four presentations of Promising Practices from South Florida organizations and other partners from around the country.

Who Should Attend?: Educators, Workforce and Economic Development Practitioners, Youth, Community Members, Employers, Human and Community Development Stakeholders

Promising Practice Sessions Include:

  • Promoting a local talent "pipeline" linking community college through an articulation agreement
  • Promoting sustainability through social enterprise
  • Nonprofits and workforce development partnerships - understanding the opportunities available in new Workforce Legislation (WIOA)
  • Adopting innovation approaches to increase attainment of industry recognized credentials

Complementary continental breakfast beginning at 7:30 am

Emerging Leaders' Launchpad!
 

In Collaboration with Florida International University & Broward College

A dialogue with Millennials and Young Professionals sharing their
perspectives about Building, Elevating and Sustaining the Middle Class.
 
Who Should Attend?: A Free event, Open to the public – with a
special invitation for college students, millennials and young professionals
 
CEUs will be awarded through Broward College.
