YouthFORCE – Friends, Opportunities, Resources, Counseling and Education – Strong Together as a  FORCE to be reckoned with!
 
OIC YouthFORCE program is a dynamic Youth Enrichment program made possible through funding by the Child’s Services Council of Broward County.
 
The OIC YouthFORCE program provides positive Youth Development opportunities through the promotion of supportive relationships with adults and peers, community connections, challenging and engaging activities and learning experiences in a safe and secure environment.
 
YouthFORCE is a free afterschool program designed to encourage and enrich middle school students to maximize their potential through engaging activities.
FREE  year round Afterschool programming; daily snack and hot dinner,  non-school day,  early release and summertime.
 
Enrichment activities include:
  • Wyman’s Teen Outreach Program (TOP ©) – an evidence based best practice program that empowers teens to make proud choices, build healthy relationships learn life and social skills and develop a sense community connectedness.
  • Nutrition & Fitness Activities – provided by FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activities and Nutrition to Youth) – My plate Nutrition Program and the CATCH Kids Physical Activity program
  • Cultural Arts Enrichment activities – providing exposure through field trips to the Broward Performing Arts center, museums, live musical shows. Includes dance and music classes through the Developing Dreams Foundation   
  • Career Exploration – using OIC’s All A’s Career Development Program to build a pathway to their future goals
  • Choose Peace Stop activities – promotes character building activities that promotes non-violence interactions 
OIC has successfully served over 200 middle school students at Silver Lakes Middle School since 2012. The Chil­dren’s Services Council has funded the Youth FORCE initiative designed to promote friendship, provide opportunities and resources, encourage community involvement and support education. Program activities include; academic support, case management, career exploration, youth development ac­tivities such as; swimming lessons, fitness, cooking, gardening, cul­tural enrichment through the arts, financial literacy through 4-H Broward, Art lessons and mural development. Prevention education is also provided through the Wyman Teen Outreach Program (TOP ©) and the PREP program.
